In this tour, you can feel the culture and History of Matsue. The Matsue Castle is the national treasure and the symbol of Matsue-city. Built as a working fortress-watchtower, it gracefully stood vigilant under three generations of the founding Horio family. Today, it is the only remaining castle in the San'in district. The Matsue Castle moat, called the Horikawa was constructed as the castle fortification. Apart from protecting the castle and its surroundings, it was also used for transporting . A unique Japanese style pleasure boat now cruises the water of the Horikawa and transports you back to ancient times. The last you will visit the popular spot 'The Mizuki Shigeru Road' which 134 yokai characters were sterically casted into detailed bronze statues. Anyone can see and touch the statues. Each unit of the black granite base and the statue is highly appraised as a fine art. Yokais attract a number of visitors and keep the town active.
