Departing from Pointe-à-Pitre, you will venture into the island of Basse-Terre and the National Park which unveils its many charms to nature lovers. Your destination is the grey-sanded beach of Malendure to board a modern glass-bottom boat. During your boat ride you will explore Pigeon Island, a protected sanctuary named after Jacques Cousteau, the famous French sailor, oceanographer and film director, whose first movie The Word of Silence, featured several scenes filmed here. The boat will stop for an opportunity to swim or snorkel in the clear Caribbean Sea, amongst hundreds of fishes. Back on board, the crew will offer you complimentary local drinks, before going back to the shore. Then you will head back towards the National Park and stop by the small but spectacular emerald green Cascade des Ecrevisses for a short walk among exuberant plants and trees. A short coach ride following your nature walk, return you to the pier and to your awaiting ship.

This tour involves a moderate to extensive amount of physical activity and is suitable for guests with limited mobility, but is not wheelchair accessible. Guests wishing to swim or snorkel must be in good physical condition and able to swim in water too deep to stand. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up, sun protection and bring a towel from the ship. This vessel may not be exclusive to our guests. Snorkeling equipment will be provided.
